WHO HE (GOD) REALLY IS.

Greetings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith.
Just as the title states, we want to take a closer look at who God really is. according to research, in order for you to really know who someone is you have to study him or her using the basic guidelines below.
  • What the person says about himself/herself
  • What others say about him/her
  • People he/ she associates with
  • What he or she does
  • His/her dressing
In this article, we are going to study about God using the above stated guidelines one after the other.

WHAT THE PERSON SAYS ABOUT HIM/ HERSELF

Wondering whether God spoke about himself? yes He did.  Let's now consider some scriptures in which God spake concerning himself.

    • Genesis 17: 1 : And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him 'I am the almighty God; walk thou before me and be thou perfect".

    • Exodus 3:14 : And God said unto Mose" I AM THAT I AM: and he said , thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,' I AM has sent me unto you.

    • Isaiah 41:4 : Who ha d wrought and done it, calling generations from the beginning? I the Lord, the first and with the last; I am He.

    • Revelation 1:8 : " I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending".

Considering the above stated few verses out of the lot, we can conclude that God is indeed the Greatest and there is no one before or after Him, He alone is the superior and the Almighty.

                                   WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT HIM

Throughout the scriptures, servants of God described God according to their varying experiences or encounter with Him.
Let's now take  a closer look at scriptural verses of the Bible for the sake of our research.
    • Exodus 15: 11 "Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders".  Moses the servant of God who has witnessed God perform so many miracles in his life and that of the Israelites by delivering from slavery in Egypt, leading out of Egypt and disgracing their enemies in their own eyes couldn't keep quiet but expressed his gratitude with a song of praise saying " there is none compared to the Most High God, none can be compared to Him either in holiness or doing wonders.   We all know that nobody can  praise another person like this without experiencing or benefiting from the person he/she is praising and nobody will praise someone who did nothing.
    • Psalms 90: 1-2 : "Lord thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hast formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting thou art God". WOW! what a way to speak good of somebody else and not yourself. The Psalmist  King David could also not help but to add his voice to that of Moses saying "even before the foundations of the earth was laid and to the end of ages God remains God and will never change. He also realise the fact that he (David) was hid in God before creation just like you and I because God does things by predestination.
    • Revelation 1:8b "saith the Lord which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." This is Apostle John telling us about the infinite nature of our God. He said" THE GOD WHICH WAS(past), WHICH IS(present),AND WHICH IS TO COME(future), THE ALMIGHTY.  There are four key elements that we need to closely study.                                  (a) "The God which is" this means the being(God) who is still currently in authority. Our God is still in control of our affairs.                                                                                                       (b) "The God which was" Here 'was' which is the simple past tense of 'is' was used to vividly describe our God who is the creator of the universe-thus he existed before the creation of all things.  The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph........                                                      (c) "the God who is to come" thus the God who will still remain God in ages to come.                (d) finally " the Almighty" lets take a closer look at the word almighty. AL-MIGHTY : Thus amongst all the God who is the mightiest. There are gods and there is a GOD.
    • Revelation 119: 1-5 : And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying Alleluia; salvation and glory, and honour and power unto the Lord our God. 2. For true and  righteousness are his judgements: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with blood of His servants at her hand.3. and again they said Alleluia, and her smoke rose up from her for ever and ever. 4. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying Amen;Alleluia. 5. And a voice came out of the throne saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants and ye that fear him, both great and small.                                                                                                                                         Wow! this last verse sums it all up; our God is indeed the I AM THAT I AM.                                   Beloved, I don't know what you might be going through right now but I assure you that if only you can lift up your burden to Him in  a prayer of faith, the I AM God will solve it for you because He (God) hasn't changed yet.   Shalom.

THE GOD OF ALL POSSIBILITIES

"But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE". Mathew 19:26
Many Christians who claim to know God, most often in times of trouble, trials and persecutions begin to wonder whether God really exists and whether H is with them or even looking at them.

In this article" the God of all possibilities" we are going to take a closer at who the God we claim to know and serve is.
Someone may ask" what is or Who is God?. Well, I also once asked the same questions despite being born and bred in a christian home.
In my quest to answer this question I found out that both the Hebrew and Greek words translated God in th bible all point to one meaning and thus " God is a self existent/ eternal being ,the creator, controller and supreme in authority above all things.
Now let's take time to explain the key words one after the other.
  • Self Existent : Self- a persons personality / character that makes them different from other people.  Existent- real or natural not imagined or invented. Hence SELF EXISTENT means to to be real or in existence without dependency on anything or anybody for survival or life. We can deduce from the above definition that God is a being that exists and depends on nobody nor anything for survival.
  • Eternal Being: A being whose existence will never no an end.
  • The controller : Someone who manages  or directs. (Genesis 1-31)
  • Supreme in Authority : Supreme- highest in rank or position.  Authority - the power to give orders to people. (Exodus 3:14, Isaiah 3:1, Isaiah 44:6). hence supreme in authority means the highest in rank or position to give orders to people.
Now let me take you back to the beginning of creation. "In the beginning,God created the heaven and earth. 2. and the earth was was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters". (Genesis 1:1-2). From this verse we conclude that before there was a beginning there existed a God who commenced the beginning.
In conclusion, we can boldly say that God is a being whose existence is not dependent on anyone or anything, neither has He a beginning nor an end, He is the one who manages and controls everything and finally His  authority is beyond or superior to every other authority whether of a prophet or a leader of a religion.
